Iris Choi is a Technology Associate for NQIT. She actively seeks out promising quantum technologies and industrial partners for early commercialisation. She is the project manager for the user engagement projects. Her duties involve identifying industrial partners, writing user project proposals with academics/industrial partners and monitoring the funded project progress.
Iris’ research background is in Quantum Information. Her PhD project has demonstrated the world’s first secure quantum data link applied to a Fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) broadband network. Currently, she co‑leads an Innovate UK project with Prof. Dominic O’Brien in collaboration with Nokia (R&D UK) and Bay Photonics in developing the next generation wireless Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) systems (for more details, please click here). She has worked previously in Toshiba Research Europe Ltd. in developing high speed QKD systems and in Oclaro Inc. in commercial laser development.
Iris is a staff member in Department of Engineering Science and a Junior Fellow in Kellogg College.
