NQIT investigators leading our work packages in quantum interfacing of matter and light and in ion-trap quantum computing, have put together a concise roadmap to quantum networking by light-matter interfacing. The roadmap outlines the nine essential requirements any successful technological approach to quantum networking has to meet, and it briefly discusses the long- and short-term perspectives of recent developments.
