An Evening of Quantum Discovery

Where
Clarendon Laboratory, Department of Physics, University of Oxford, Parks Road, Oxford, OX1 3PU
When

Tue October 17th, 2017 17:00 to Tue October 17th, 2017 20:30

Come and find out about Quantum Physics. Hear about the exciting new research and innovative technology development being done at Oxford University. Discover how Quantum Physics impacts on your everyday life, now and in the near future.
  • What is a quantum computer? How does it work? What will it be able to do?
  • How do you make the strongest magnetic field in the world?
  • What’s so ‘super’ about superconductors?

We will have short talks about the latest developments in quantum technologies, hands-on demos in our science fair and tours of Physics laboratories.

The early session (5pm to 6.30pm) is for families with young children (under-12s) and will include an interactive talk with demos.

Register now for this free event – we look forward to seeing you there in October.
