Martin Booth

Martin Booth is Professor of Engineering Science and head of the Dynamic Optics and Photonics Group in the Department of Engineering Science.

His research spans optics, imaging and microscopy, with particular interest in the development of adaptive optics methods. This research is carried out in collaboration with many group in Physiology, Neuroscience, Biochemistry and Physics. The role of the research group in NQIT is in laser fabrication of photonics devices. The group has a range of adaptive optics laser fabrication systems that enable manufacture of complex structures in transparent materials, including waveguide circuits in glass, photon sources and colour centres in diamond.
