Kashefi is a Professor in computer science and has pioneered a trans-disciplinaly interaction of quantum and classical expertise in all aspects of theoretical investigation all the way to actual experimental and industrial engineering implementation.

She is the founder of national quantum networks (QuOxIC and QUISCO), elected members of the international quantum institutions (PCQC - France, CQIQC - Canada) and member of the Li-Fi R&D Centre Edinburgh.

She is the Associate Director of NQIT in charge of applications development.

She is the pioneer and patent holder in the fields of quantum cloud and quantum verification that are critical foundations for her EPSRC established career fellowship in Quantum Technology.
